Why become a Pitch Clubber?

It’s pretty simple: You get to read pitches that actually sold stories AND hear the writer talk through their reasoning in tiny sound bytes. You read a little. You listen a little. You learn a lot!

This writer won a National Magazine Award. This writer sold a story about wheelies. And this person got a new agent.

I’m a journalist and author of the books Six Weeks in Saratoga and The Front Runner. I created and host The Creative Nonfiction Podcast, a podcast I started in 2013, to talk to tellers of true tales about the true tales they tell. I’ve interviewed people like John McPhee, Jericho Brown, Laura Hillenbrand, Susan Orlean, Mitchell S. Jackson, Hanif Abdurraqib, Lidia Yuknavitch, and more than 500 others.

I’m committed to demystifying much of the writing process so you can do work you’re proud of. Pitch Club is one of those channels. I hope you’ll stick around.

Forever free.
